Homemade Face Wipes

Tis the season for runny noses and chapped cheeks.  Or so you thought! We all know the feeling of having a cold or even allergies and the thought of blowing your nose one more time, even with the softest of tissues can seem like a scratchy nightmare. It’s no wonder my child performs acrobatic ninja moves when I attempt to wipe his nose…

So, I decided to make my own soothing facial wipes and they work so well on little ones faces – heck my son even loves to let me wipe his face with these. Talk about a world of difference! Take a look at the pictures below, these were taken 1 week apart from each other. The first photo, he had been sick, we were wiping his face with regular tissues and he got incredibly chapped. I immediately started using the homemade wipes and exactly 1 week later, he cleared up!

These wipes only have 3 gentle ingredients so they can be used head to toe and will leave skin soft and moisturized.

Place the water and coconut oil in small saucepan and heat over low heat to melt coconut oil.  While coconut is melting, use a serrated knife to cut paper towel roll in half.  Place each half in a quart sized mason jar. Continue to stir to melt the coconut oil. Once melted through, turn off and remove from heat and wait until coconut oil has cooled to the touch. Add the lavender and vitamin E oil. Stir to combine then pour mixture evenly between two jars. Let sit for 5 minutes then flip over the roll of paper towels. Let sit another 5 minutes then remove the inner cardboard tube and pull up the first sheet for continuous, easy use.
